How To Reverse MS Effectively With The Right Kind Of Diet

By Sherry Gross

It is always a marvel to see the human body in action. It is fascinating to note that the anatomy of the average human is actually composed of so many different systems that have connected functions to make the entire system work. It even has its own battle army to be able to get ready for any battle with all kinds of unexpected invaders.

The human immune system is an amazing protective mechanism. It defends you against bacteria, parasites, viruses, and other microbial organisms that can enter and take over your body. Healthy diet and an active lifestyle can make your immunity stronger, but there are times when your own system attacks you. This is called autoimmunity, and is the leading cause for diseases like Reverse MS, lupus, and others.

Autoimmune diseases are very hard to cure. A very known example is multiple sclerosis. In this condition, the immune system mistake the brain and the spinal cord for harmful matter and attacks them. These two are very essential in daily functions, so when they incur damages, it may be detrimental to daily activities. The build up of scars in the brain can hinder most functions and can even cause physical, mental, and even psychiatric difficulties.

The main reason why people lose most control of their body when afflicted with MS is due to demyelination. This means that the myelin that covers most nerve endings is gradually thinning. Myelin is important for easier conduction of impulses from the brain to the other parts.

Symptoms of multiple sclerosis actually varies form one person to the next. The damaged nerve signals can cause debilitating signs in an affected person like walking and coordination problems. The affected individual will inevitably have poor control of muscular functions because the commands from the brain cannot reach the intended part. Added symptoms include numbness or pins and needles.

Vision problems can also be brought about by the said condition. The disease often interferes with the white matter in the optic nerve so blindness is experienced by the vast majority. As the disease continues to worsen, patients may feel spasticity or the stiffness of the muscles. He or she may also have difficulties in controlling urine and the urges to urinate.

The real cause of the said illness is currently unknown, even though dedicated teams of medical experts have devoted most of their professional lives trying to understand the disease and come up with a really effective cure. One possible cause, according to them, is immunologic in origin yet they have not really pinpointed to which immune cell is responsible. Genetic conditions can also be one, yet they are quick to say that the illness is not really hereditary.

As of the present, there is actually no known cure for the said illness. Most patients are treated with a variety of drugs that are meant to slow down the progression of the disease, but they have varied effects for each patient. Some of them benefit from it, while an alarming number do not. It is for this reason that people are turning to a new kind of special diet to help reverse the said disease. This is also known as the paleo diet.

The said diet is a modern take on the way the early people eat. This means staying away from bread and grains as a source of carbohydrates and substituting them with tubers instead. This diet focuses more on meat and less dairy, contrary to what most have been observing.
