Indoor Rowing And The Reason More And More People Are Doing It

By Gisela Kaiser

The sport of indoor rowing has been around for a long time. However, lately they have increased in popularity because high tech equipment has gotten better, individuals are more aware of rowing machine benefits and our busy lifestyles have simultaneously increased the need for more efficient workouts.

High-Tech Devices

As with the majority of at-home exercise equipment, indoor rowers have high-tech systems that can keep track of your meters traveled, speed, calories burned and more. Now some models have the capability to monitor your heart rate for a more effective workout.

Innovation even permits individuals to take on other rowers or the machine itself. This is a terrific approach for staying motivated and adding one more dimension to your exercise regimen.

Being able to set goals and see your improvements in time is a terrific means to help people get better and master rowing. Rather than employing a professional trainer or signing up for a group class, some people discover that technology can help them achieve exactly what they desire on their own.

Rowing Machine Benefits

A greater number of individuals are getting involved with indoor rowing machines with Crossfit groups, fitness centers and even indoor rowing clubs. As individuals test out the sport, they find out that they can attain a whole-body exercise using one machine.

They see that they can get stronger muscles and benefit from an aerobic exercise all at once. They also discover an activity that is low impact and can be quickly learned at any age - no previous experience or special abilities required.

Recognizing all these advantages, many individuals are entering the sport of indoor rowing without ever going near a lake or river. Plus, the additional benefit of rowing at home makes this form of exercise much more appealing.

Efficient Workouts that Require Minimal Time

Many of us are busy all day long. We have careers to manage and households to look after and a variety of other duties. Occasionally, it can be hard to fit in an ongoing exercise routine. Having home workout gear can be a great help. However, equipment like treadmills or stationary bicycles work just a portion of our bodies. They do not provide an entire body workout.

Indoor rowers are fantastic for this reason, as they can strengthen the upper body muscles, legs and your entire core. Furthermore, while you are working your muscles, you are also receiving the benefits of an aerobic exercise.

What this boils down to is that you can get even more strength training completed in a shorter period of time. This provides people the opportunity to work out less often or for shorter periods of time without giving up the health advantages. In fact, there is a fantastic eight minute workout that I do frequently.
